Associate Remodeler Position
Job Description
As an Associate Remodeler, you are a creative, career-minded, experienced trades professional who loves to use craft to enrich people’s lives. You perform a variety of remodeling tasks efficiently and at a high quality standard.
Responsibilities
All employees are responsible for upholding company standards in conduct, professionalism, and safety. You maintain these standards yourself and ensure others hold to these standards.
You develop a broad set of remodeling skills and master several specific ones. You have attention to detail, complete quality work, and stay on task until the job is done.
You maintain a clean, orderly, and professional job site. You keep inventory of materials and equipment to ensure all workers have what they need to complete their work successfully.
You monitor and safeguard both client and company property. You maintain tools and equipment to ensure safety, durability, and reliability.
The Lead Remodeler may direct you to supervise laborers or subcontractors within your assigned tasks.
When the Lead Remodeler is unavailable, you ensure other employees remain on task and are productive. This may mean assigning new tasks.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must:
have at least three years of consistent, dedicated experience in a relevant trade,
demonstrate reliability and follow through on commitments,
conduct yourself with integrity and honesty,
be able to work cleanly,
be physically fit to perform hard manual labor for sustained periods (reach, crawl, bend, lift 80lbs),
be able to work outside in extreme temperatures for long hours,
have excellent hand-eye coordination,
be able to perform mathematical calculations and take accurate measurements, and
be exceptionally safety-conscious.
Remodeling Skills
As an Associate Remodeler, you will learn and perform a variety of skills that cover almost the entirety of residential construction, including but not limited to:
Job site prep, stocking, and organization as required
Reading and understanding plans
Setting up and maintaining dust control
Demolition of existing finishes and structure
Digging trenches and footings with hand and power tools
Pouring and finishing small batches of concrete
Construction and repair of masonry and stucco
Framing with wood and steel
Installing insulation and professional air-sealing foams
Installing weather-resistive barriers such as building paper or housewrap
Installing rigid foam insulation board, strapping, and siding
Installing and properly flashing exterior doors and windows
Hanging, taping, and texturing drywall
Masking and painting
Installing interior doors, trim, and cabinetry
Setting tile for floors, countertops, and walls
Installing liquid-applied waterproofing systems in showers
Minor roofing work
Job site clean-up
Experience and Education
Three or more years experience with relevant trades such as carpentry, drywall, or tile
High school diploma or equivalent
Fluency in English
Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish language a plus
Necessary Equipment
You will need the following equipment for this job:
Reliable transportation. You need a valid Driver License, a reliable vehicle, and auto insurance.
Reliable smartphone. You will need one capable of running our timesheet app.
Tools. At a minimum, you will need a basic set of hand tools, including:
25-foot tape measure
Screwdriver set
Plier set
Flat bar
Cat's paw nail puller
Tin snips (straight)
Chalk line
Utility knife
Hammer
Nail set
Speed square
String line
6” and 12” taping knives (stainless)
Mud pan (stainless)
Knee pads
Comfortable work boots or shoes, preferably with a steel toe
Tool bag, apron, or case
A combination kit of professional-grade 18-volt cordless tools, charger, and batteries is strongly recommended.
